Industry Events- TESOL Virtual Seminar
Hello Readers,
Are you too busy to fly to another city in order to attend one of the many TESOL conferences around the world? If so, this month's event is just for you! "Designing a Program to Meet the Needs of ELLs in Your District" is a virtual seminar which means that you don't have to leave home in order to take part in it! For a small fee ($25 for TESOL members $60 for nonmembers), you will receive the following:
* Live virtual seminar event.
* Playback feature to access the program when it fits your schedule (made available for all registrants after the live event).
* All handouts and ...
... materials from the presenters.
* Questions to guide discussion.
* Opportunity to take part in an online discussion board
Date: Wednesday, May 16, 2007
Time: 3:00 pm to 4:30 pm EST (but remember, you can watch it at another time)
What you'll learn from the seminar:
* Basic legal requirements for ESL programs in the United States.
* Program design models for small to large ELL populations.
* Best practices for classroom instruction and assessment.

* Internet connection.
* Computer (PC or MAC) with sound card and speakers or a headset.
* For PC users: Internet Explorer (version 5.5 or higher but no beta versions).

Carol, a native English-speaker who hails from the small town of St. Joseph in Minnesota, USA, and lived and worked in China for more than 7 years. During that time, she worked with students that range in age from three to more than sixty years old. She worked in universities, private language schools, grade schools, international schools, as well as private tutoring.
