How Well Do You Know English?

Every once in a while a document turns up in some museum, library or even attic, that defies the standard rules of literature, language and grammar.

Most of us who study and use language generally assume that human language, at least in the past thousand years or so, follows a few standard structural patterns in terms of words, sentences and extended text.
